Positioning the Leg

the splint is lined with cotton
wool and the leg laid along the splint,now
comes the hard bit . With the dog sedated and with one person
holding the
dog you take hold of the foot in one hand and hold the elbow with
the other
and pull the leg far enough to allow the ends of the bones to
sort of mesh
back with each other when you let the leg go back. this part
hurts the dog
and it will scream even under sedation but only until the leg is
let go but
you must do it quickly and once done there seems to be no more
pain.
the break in this pic is where the two colours meet
